Went to KS to visit the wife's family and got out for an hour of herping. Got lucky on a roadside drainage ditch and found this beauty under a rock near about thirty ringnecks. He took a f/t scented right off the bat!! (sorry for the bad pic-not me)

East kansas is right on Doug!! What sex is that one there? This one is a male so if that is a female looking for a friend we have to hook em up!!

Patton Jun 03, 2009 08:36 PM

While you kids are bickering over stud fees,
I plan on hitting southern Maryland this weekend.
Are you guys game? LOL!!!!!!! Doug, that is one screamin'
holbrooki you have there! Joe, I'm jealous! Nice find.

PHil, I just broke the news to my wife and she is pissed! They get in at 9pm on Saturday and I told her I am leaving early in the morning Sunday. I will try to man up and hold off the storm that is my wife.

Patton Jun 03, 2009 09:21 PM

Hey, I understand. A week with family will drive the most
sane person crazy!!!! She probably just wants to get back to reality. It would be nice to meet Doug though. Oh well, no hard feelings. The last thing I would want to do is piss off your wife, after all she puts up with our crazy hobby. LOL!!!

Okay Dorothy, how many heel clicks before finding that awesome thing. I'm a closet holbrooki fan actually, and man, that thing is sweet. Good on ya mate!

Congratulations Joe & good luck with it. What's the sex?

PeeBee Jun 05, 2009 10:49 PM

Duh...Joe, nevermind I just read your other post regarding its sex. I'll keep you in mind if my KS pair ever produce a partner for it.

joecop Jun 05, 2009 11:45 PM

Thanks Paul. That would be great!! Just so you know this one came from Shawnee Co. (spelling?) You coming down this year?

PeeBee Jun 07, 2009 06:00 PM

Hey Joe,

Mine are from eastern KS.

Not sure when it will be, but I do still plan to make it down there.

Great find! Those KS Specks are pretty. I like the variability in these snakes pattern from locale to locale. Any body w/ pics of adult KS Specks?
