Try small lizards. Perhaps you can scent some pinks after the animal is eating lizards. It may take some time... Good luck!!

Scarlet snakes (Cemophora) are reptile egg specialists. They're typically reluctant to accept anything other than their natural diet, though I've heard of an odd animal or two that would accept Anolis lizards.

My advice would be to release the animal, and buy a tricolored snake which is more suited to captivity. I'm partial to milk snakes, and would recommend trying one of them...

Keep an eye out for corals, this shot was from 5' out my back door in N central Fl. Also where a family of skinks also reside this scarlet snake survived and was released

Where you are there are enough anole eggs to keep the snake fed but if you don't like to dig for them around foundations of houses, in logs, or under stones, etc. you could get them to "drink" chicken egg.
I have kept and bred them and fed them on a variety of foods. Some have taken pinks scented w/ anole egg and one ate beef heart strips.
All that may be too much trouble for you and the snake is probably better off released right where he was found.
