I think my snake has a message for me.... put a hiding spot on the hot side of the tank. He can't see me, so he's hidden right? haha
What types of hiding spots are good for the hot side? I have a bark piece on the cool side.

Milks love either hiding in substrate or under a very low hide, anything that works and is barely taller than the snake's midsection. Cork bark flats are perfect.
I use these, among other things, and even when the snake is thicker than the hide clearance, they still cram under there and lift the hide up a bit. Even a piece of plywood works very well. No need for fancy-shmancy. I also tried cutting 2" PVC pipe into two halves. That works well too.
Consider moistening that bark a little - the snake's skin looks dry.

Like said...cork....
I generally use paper if they are bigger and messier...
smaller milks I / they like aspen a few inches, water bowl, cork bark slab....maybe 2 and alot have a jug cutoff with moist moss inside....they hide under cork, under aspen, under jug,and even under bowl,I don't want them under bowl, and I set them on the cage floor.....they still squeeze under at times, especially baby milks ....
....you can use piles of cork.....
I even threw some dried oak leaves into some of the baby red's cages for scent of the wild affect......
