This is one of the places I was talking about in my post below meaning bad. I live 1 state away and opened a box of what was supposed to be 2000 1/2 crix and they were no bigger then 1/4 inchers and all dead!! Do you sometimes run into problems with them like this? I mean maybe 5 alive the rest all dead with dry potatoes in the boxes. They are taking forever to refund my money too. Thank god I just tested them with 2000 most of the time I order over 7000 and 2000 worms at a time.

Hello
Well I've been ordering from them for several months now, and I have actually been pretty happy with most of my orders...
However, in the last box of crickets I got, (was supossed to be 1,000 1/4 crickets) the crickets seemed smaller than the size I orderd and I do not think there were 1,000....
-I may be looking into buying them somewere else in the future.

Never a problem with reptilefood. Reptilefood is dependable, quick next day arrival if ordered before 3pm, descent counts, not many dead, but always quick to fix a problem on those rare occasions something goes wrong. No questions asked about replacing dead crix for any reason. I tried two new sources the last 3 weeks just to try someone new and still had to order from reptilfood inbetween. Either it took them a week to ship them out, or I received 2000 dead crickets from another place this week who has still not replaced the money on my credit card. Not sure if I can name these BAD companies but you can e-mail me at vangogh79@aol.com and I'll be more then happy to tell you. Oh also if your closer to the west coast americancricketranch.com is top notch too. Shipped me 5000 across the country to New Jersey and could count the dead ones on my hands, not bad at all. If I lived on the west coast american cricket ranch would be my choice. They had nice counts too, and healthy long lasting crix.

I use reptilefood.com mainly because it is so darn easy to order from them and the minimal amount of problems. I would also suggest Grooms, they were very good as well. Chris
I would have to suggest Grooms. Never had an order arrive bashed up or dead. Great people over the phone and also in person. "When" I kept my crix alive as feeders, I actually had very little die off.

Right now I get my crickets for 12 per 1000. So Reptilefood.com is cheaper. But its $20 shipping for next day, and $22 for next morning. Only $12 for 2 day. What are your opinions on this? Im haveing trouble lately getting crickets from my source so I am looking to get tehm shipped.

but that's because I buy 3,000 to 5,000 at a time AND live in Florida. They ship to GA, FL, TN, AL, SC at a reduced rate. Also, as most do, the more you buy, the cheaper they are.
If you order more than 6,000 crickets, they are $11.00 shipped to the above states. Also with a cricket order, I think that they do not charge shipping for worm orders at the same time as cricket orders.

I've never had any loss from them, even in winter but then again.....I'm in Florida. I know they ship to cold climates and imagine that would be a little bit more expensive.
Call them and see what they can do for you
Sharla
I think I am gonna try Grooms 1st...
1,000 - 2,000 $18.00 shipped anywhere out side of the neighboring states...
sounds like a deal to me...
Thanks everyone...
Chris, Walley & Patty pride themselves on their service, which is what being in business is all about.
They them I said, "Hello"
I have order going in in the morning, too.
Good Luck,
Sharla
PS, I'll respond to your cricket set-up question later tonight, gotta run!
i just tried groom's for my most recent order. my credit card got declined (oops!) so they called me to make sure they had the right number and everything. chris was so apologetic like it was his fault (the card just hadnt been fully activated).
