Homemade Incubator

johnholts Jun 04, 2009 02:37 PM

Can anyone tell me a good type of place(s) to find a used double glass door upright refrigerator that can be turned into an incubator? It’s turning out to be a bit more of a challenge than I thought, unless I want to spend hundreds.

Thanks in advance,
John

Check restaurant equipment suppliers in the yellow pages or internet by you. Also, I would look into used restuarant, store & bar equipment on internet (Craigs List, etc). You can check at local corner store and ask where the get the coolers and who services them, and then call that person & on up the chain.

You dont care if it runs or not, so you should be able to get one alot cheaper. You just need to find one.

Also, you could take an old refrigerator and cut a hole in the door and add a window if you have to have one.

Good luck.

anywhere that sells them will have old broken ones...you can get them cheap I bet....???.....also check auctions near you...there are usually alot of restaurant equiptment auctions around, the average restaurant lasts just one year from start....

...make sure they take out the freon......!......fines for releasing it into air....

I had the hardest time finding one, and then I found a lot full of them once I contacted a business that services the commercial refrigeration units. Even so, they weren't exactly cheap.
