Lemon pastels are a more vibrant form of the pastel. They don't brown out like the original strain tends to. More information is provided at the link below. Hope this helps.

I bought a Lemon pastel male from NERD last year... he bred for me at 380 grams (a 2500 gram female) and gave me 6 fertile eggs and one slug.

Two little lemon pastels hatched out on Augest 12th... right now they don't look all that different than normal pastels, but Kevin told me it will take 4-5 sheds before they start looking like lemons.

So far they have shed twice, so I've got 2-3 more sheds to go.

They are eating like champs, and growing fast.

And you have some really great leos there. I know that is totally unrelated to bp's but since I dabble in a bit of leo breeding myself I thought I would mention it.

I've never heard of a male breeding anywhere near that small. That's amazing.

Yep... Kevin told me he was producing sperm plugs, so when I got him I cooled him down and introduced him to the females.

He locked up with quite a few ladies, but only one became gravid.

I was happy to see eggs, the female that laid was very large and I couldn't even tell for sure that she was gravid. I checked on her one morning and found her coiled around the eggs. It was a good morning.

This is just my personal opinion, but I think lemon pastels are just as nice as any other line, no better, no worse. I think as the line originator, NERD can put any name they want on their line to differentiate it from others, but I do not believe them to be any more yellow or less yellow than the other lines. I believe it is good marketing, and with the NERD name behind it, people are willing to pay more. A few months back, someone posted a pic of several different pastel lines that they owned, side by side, and the Rupel line stood out as I remember it, not the Lemon. I would buy a Lemon pastel, but would not pay a premium, or any amount over the market rate for a Graziani or Bell line pastel. My opinion on Pastels (I have Sutherland and VPI line pastels now, with a Bell line pair on the way) is the same as ghosts and axanthics, do not pick a line to buy, buy the nicest individual, from the best looking parents, and you probably will not be dissapointed.

Buy the nicest SPECIMEN, regardless of "line". For sure.
