Squaretail Arabesque dbl het litter!!!

cbmorphs Jun 04, 2009 06:44 PM

Here's some post shed pics from my Albino Arabesque X Squaretail litter. There's 29 healthy babies from this litter of which 14 are Arabesque 100% double hets for Squaretail & Albino.
The normal double hets from this litter are already starting to color up nicely!
Excuse all the photo's, I was just wanting to share how they turned out and hopefully get some feed back on them. I believe this to be the first Squaretail to Albino Arabesque breeding to date.

Thanks for looking!

It was between a 05 Snow (the whitest I've seen) X 06 Hypo Arabesque 66% het Albino from Jeremy Stone... He proved out as I got some amazing Sunglow Arabesques. The litter was small but nice, no complaints here, ever...

Thanks,

Wow, those are amazing !! Congrats.
I realy can see the sq.tail gene and Arab gene work together.
They do have similar color to them I breed with
dh albino sq.tail x arab het albino.
How will they look like if you breed them back to get
homozygoth albino arab squaretails ? ?
And the "normals" look like low grade squaretails, very nice.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm really excited about this project. I have an 07 female Albino Squaretail that could breed this coming season, but I'm goin to give her another year to get ready for one of the males from this litter... The Albino Squaretail Arabesques babies should be amazing in both color and pattern...can't wait!

Hopefully by then you can prove one of yours out too!

Thanks again for the reply,

The Albino Arab-Squaretails should look like this one from my dh Albino Sq.tail x Arab het Albino breeding, but much cleaner.. cant wait to see them...
It´s a female so I have to wait a few years till I can breed her to a Sq.tail male het Albino...

Thanks again Siegi,

I couldn't help it, when I saw the first picture of the dbl het "normal" I had to laugh. Is there anything normal about such an extraordinarily attractive snake? I had wondered what squaretail would do with arabesque. The way the hets are so bright and crisp looking, beautiful snakes!!

I agree with you on the normals, although these are the best looking two out of the normals. The rest of them don't have broken patterns like these, but they're colors are starting to come in already! The Arabesque are staring to change too, just not as noticeably...

Thanks for the reply, this was the kind of input I was looking for on these... If all goes well, this "should" prove to be an interesting project in about 18 months from now!

... really nice!! I don't know if it will change the pattern much, but I bet the color on those when crossed back will be outrageous!

cbmorphs Jun 05, 2009 09:20 AM

I agree Shane, I'm hoping their colors will be really intense!! I also hope the patterns will be a little more wild then the average Arabesque, specially the Albinos & Sunglows of both the Squaretails & Arabesque... I guess only time will tell.

I thought I commented on these outrageous looking Arabs and DH's !
They are amazing that idea seems like a good Arab to squaretail Arab.
All the Arabs turned out sweet !

I'm hoping to get something new when I breed one of these male Arabs dbl hets to the Albino Squaretail I have...
Only time and patience will tell!
Here's a photo of they're future mate, I'm going to stick 2 of the males in with her to make sure the job gets done!

Thanks Larry,
