Erythristic Albino born last night

boxienuts Jun 05, 2009 10:37 AM

This erythristic albino was born last night from a Carteret Co. double het for erythristic albino bred to the same. Unfortunately there were 5 stillborns and one was an albino, but the good news is this one is very healthy looking, and the best part is that it is a male. I think this snake has a lot of potiential to really color up as it grows, it already has a pinkish orange glow to it that the picture doesn't really do justice. Scott had already produced a litter of these last month, but this is the first year they have been produced. I was first to produce the snow red-sided this year but he was the first to produce the erythristic albino, so he said this makes us "even steven", lol.

wow, congrats! cant wait to see these things get some color!!! I'm not a huge fan of albino snakes as opposed to snakes with melanin, but an albino snake with RED or ORANGE, now that's a different story!!! Can't wait for my erythristic pair to grow up and make me some of these gems!!!

Jeff,

Congrats on the babies ! It looks like it should color up nicely w/ the bold markings, some of mine are like that and some aren't so my guess is the ones that aren't are normal albinos. Time will tell...
