Behind every interesting hatch there always seems to be an equally interesting story. A few years ago the Snakekeeper hatched out a beautiful pastel clown. I was blown away by this new morph and I set out to produce my own. I had 3 possible het females in my collection and I had just purchased a gorgeous reduced pattern clown male. The first time I bred the 3 females, 2 of them became gravid and they both proved out as hets and produced some outstanding clowns. The following year, 2008, none of them went so I was clownless in '08. This year 2 of the females ovulated with one of them being the one unproven female. She laid 4 eggs after being bred to a pastel het clown male. 4 weeks later the other female laid 9 slugs! As much as this was disappointing I never get upset. It's all part and parcel with breeding. I also know that bad luck can often be followed by good luck.
Well the unproven female is unproven no more. Out of the four eggs I have 2 pastel clowns, a clown and a pastel. They are still in the egg and pics will follow once they are out.
Keep the faith!
Markus
