Our local feed store was baby sitting this snake for the local animal shelter. They got a call from some unsuspecting lady that found it slinking around in her back yard. They wouldn't let us take the lid off the tank cuz she said he was really aggressive. I hope ya'll can see him well enough to help us figure out what he is. Some kind of boa or python, obviously, but he has some very colorful markings within his color pattern. The image is from my cell phone so it is not that good, so the color that you see as large yellow areas are really sort of a creamy color on the snake. There were some small irredescent patches of teal colors down his body. His eyes were sort of gold. What do ya'll think?

That is a Reticulated Python, likely a Tiger Retic although pics are bad. Definitely an escape or release unless you live in S. E. Asia.....

Yes. Thank you Tom. I gathered some info and photos online for the lady at the feed store. When the shelter comes back to pick up the snake they will know what they're dealing with. And hopefully find it the appropriate home and it wont end up out loose again.

Yep, that's a Tiger Retic. Good to not have that wandering the neighborhood anymore. We get enough bad press as hobbyists.

how big do the Tiger Retic get? I know some one that was going give me one. but I said no. b/c they get to big.

the rescue I work with has a female tiger retic.....she is about 21 feet long and weighs about 200 pounds....and is still growing
