Big temp spike on incubating eggs

RussBates Jun 05, 2009 04:25 PM

What are the liklihood of these eggs surviving a 4-5 hour temp spike of 95-105? They are only 3 days old with lots of good blood vessels in them.
Thanks,
Russ

I had a similiar temp spike last year for roughly the same amount of time. Didn't affect any of the eggs in the incubator and they all hatched just fine.

I agree at the early stage of development I would think they would be fine, although time will tell.

and???

......set them at 90 and wait 60 days.....

....

.(I have colubrid eggs on a shelf...they go from 78 to 88 all the time...they are at 88 all day alot...they hatch.....even though anything over 84 can really screw up corn eggs, and people say spikes and drops hurt too, while others say temp variation makes better babies??? can't be both ways...)

...all you can do is wait.....

yep

Yup I'm with you on that

The milk eggs didn't make it...no blood vessels showing anymore but the python eggs still look good. Nice big, red vessels.
