Moonglow Motley litter.........

Pithons Jun 05, 2009 04:35 PM

As some may have seen my posts dating back to May 20th when my female Motley 66% poss het albino that was bred to a male Moonglow had a litter. Well here is the puzzleing thing, the female was poss het albino and I got one, yes one, albino in the litter. So she proved but that is not what is puzzling. The thing that is puzzling is that the one Albino she had is not an Albino, its a Snow. So that would mean that the female poss het albino was also a poss het anery. Funny thing is that all the double het snows in the litter are just that, dbl hets. All the hypo het snows are just that, triple hets. The 4 hypo motley het snows are hypo mots het snow. But here is the funny thing. The 4 'Normal' Motleys het snow all seem to be anery mots het albino. So I dont know what the hell is going on here with these genetics. Please go to my 21 pics I just posted in my kingsnake photos of all these babies. I have pics of the 4 hypo mots, pics of the 4 which appear to be anery mots, a pic of a triple het and dbl het(they all look the same). Also I have pics of the one snow boa that was produced in this litter. Also one of the triple het was a low end paradox. So please check out those pics. And please let me know what you think. Esp on the mots. Again, my photo user name is PITHONS.

anery mot het albino?

Pithons Jun 05, 2009 06:25 PM

These all sure look like anery mots to me. The thing which is puzzling is that no aneries, no ghosts, no ghost mots.. Just one snow, no other albinos, and these what surely look like anery mot hets. Makes me wonder if the anery gene and the motley gene may actuall attact each other, fall on the same animal. Cant wait to brees the parents back to each other next season.

It looks like you bred a Moonglow to a Motley het Snow in which case the results should look like this...

Het. Super Hypo, Homozygous Albino, Homozygous Anery,
x
Het. Super Motley, Het. Albino, Het. Anery,

6.25% Het. Albino, Het. Anery,
6.25% Het. Albino, Homozygous Anery,
6.25% Homozygous Albino, Het. Anery,
6.25% Homozygous Albino, Homozygous Anery,
6.25% Het. Super Hypo, Het. Albino, Het. Anery,
6.25% Het. Super Hypo, Het. Albino, Homozygous Anery,
6.25% Het. Super Hypo, Homozygous Albino, Het. Anery,
6.25% Het. Super Hypo, Homozygous Albino, Homozygous Anery,
6.25% Het. Super Motley, Het. Albino, Het. Anery,
6.25% Het. Super Motley, Het. Albino, Homozygous Anery,
6.25% Het. Super Motley, Homozygous Albino, Het. Anery,
6.25% Het. Super Motley, Homozygous Albino, Homozygous Anery,
6.25% Het. Super Motley, Het. Super Hypo, Het. Albino, Het. Anery,
6.25% Het. Super Motley, Het. Super Hypo, Het. Albino, Homozygous Anery,
6.25% Het. Super Motley, Het. Super Hypo, Homozygous Albino, Het. Anery,
6.25% Het. Super Motley, Het. Super Hypo, Homozygous Albino, Homozygous Anery,

Every variation had the same odds of popping up (1/16). What were the genetic results of the litter including the ones that passed?

Wow...all I can say is you hit the jackpot!!

WHatever the results are...you did well!

Thanks Yea I think I did well too, esp for a first timer. I think the jackpot is having a monster of a 8ft female motley prove out to be a het snow. These are still my favorites, Hypo mots het moonglow.
