question on feeding baby boas...

boafanatic7 Jun 05, 2009 08:19 PM

for their first meal, how long should you leave a live rodent in with them before giving up and pulling it out again. 1hr, 2 hr, 3 hr? overnight?

I never leave live prey in the enclosure with my snakes.Especially prey with teeth.

these are pinkies/fuzzies.

Put the fuzzy/pinky in with them in the evening. Then leave them overnight. If they're not gone the next morning, remove them.

Most babies will eat a live fuzzy/pinky on the first try. Some will not. Most times they'll take food more readily at night. If you're lucky yours will all take food on the first try.
