Has anyone ever bred two BP that are housed together???

All the time I hear people say it's impossible to breed two BP that are housed together. But I don't believe in the impossible so just wanted to see if someone did breed two BP who are housed together?

Yep, yep, yep!

My favorite male, "Precious" who is a normal, has been housed with his longtime girlfriend "Belle" for over a year now.
She laid a beautiful clutch last week.
I only separate these two for feeding.
Contrary to what some people say....... I really believe that they like each other. Neither one will eat if it's separated from the other for a given length of time, I know I've tried!
When I got my high-dollar males I wanted to breed "Belle" to one of them, so I separated her and for 6 months neither she nor "Precious" would eat.......... I put them back together and both ate for me the next day.
So now my 100% het for nothing male has his own female.
Who knows, maybe I'll hatch a patternless........LMAO!

Jen

That's great to hear! Did you do something special (cycle them by cooling and/or changing of light in their cage) to get them to breed?

Nope, nothing special.
They just did it, I didn't plan on it or anything.

have gotten a beautiful clutch from a pair that is housed together and always wrapped up with one another.
If one moves to one side of the cage, the other is sure to follow.

i didn't want to stress them, they had taken a long time to get healthy (they were not together then). Finally, after more then a year for the male, they were both declared healthy. Thats when i started to keep them together. I seperated for feeding only and made sure i had a nice big cage with the right temps/humidy and lots of privacy (many hiding spots).
I didn't even expect or wanted them to breed. But four weeks ago she had a clutch of 6 HUGE eggs (150 gr. each) and they are doing well in the incubator.

it is a 4 foot neodesha.
Many people keep Ball Pythons in very small cages or in Racks.
I see mine being fairly active and using all the room they have. At the least, they do move into different areas to lay around there, fairly often.
If you put a snake in a tiny container, yes, it won't really do much.
But different people, different opinions. This is just mine...

I agree. I have a 66 gallon cage (4 foot long) for my male BP. My little female is still in a 27 gallon enclosure.

Do you have a picture of you enclosure?
