FIRST CLUTCH OF YEAR

TOM_CRUTCHFIELD Jun 06, 2009 07:14 PM

I'm having a late year on Balls but a stellar one on everything including Balls. Here's a clutch of 6...4 Fires and 2 normals. Has anyone bred a Fire to a Calico? Just curious...

Sure there is no pastel fire in the clutch?
What was the pairing?

TOM_CRUTCHFIELD Jun 07, 2009 09:30 AM

There was NO pastel involved. It was a pairing of an unusual light female which I thought might be a Fire to a proven Fire line. I will have to admit 2 of the young are NOT typical looking Fires but will be outrageous I believe in color. The female likely has something going on genetically but is NOT a Pastel. The heads on two of them resemble a super Pastel's...You've got a good eye....If everything works right I'm going to have 3-4 unusual pairings of unproven ranched stuff I've picked thru and raised up....thanks

Hi Tom - very nice looking fires. I bred Fires to Calicos this year, and have at least one clutch coming... so with any luck we will see the first Fire Calico this season - could be spectacular.
Best of luck with the rest of your season,
Dan

The reason I asked is I should have 2 clutches this year and wondered if anyone has or is doing it...thanks
