Juvenile triaspis update...

ratsnakehaven Jun 07, 2009 12:03 AM

Last post I made on these guys I said I'd let y'all know what I found out...
http://forums.kingsnake.com/view.php?id=1687233,1687233

I found the babies didn't like lizards. It seems they only refused pinkies as they were adjusting to the captive conditions in my herp room. After a couple weeks they started eating f/t pinks and have eaten three or four times since then...

Doesn't seem to be any problems raising these guys, so far. They are doing very well. They have shed with moderate humidity and do well at room temps of about 75-82*F.

Regards,

Terry Cox/Ratsnake Haven

That's great info, Terry! Nice photo of a very nice little triaspis, too. Looking forward to more of your observations about them.

I am finding the LTC young adults, from Diego, to be undemanding and easy to keep. They have great appetites, and the male will take f/t mice. The female is still mainly taking live mice, but I did get her to take a freshly killed young adult mouse recently. I still keep large moist hides for them, which they use fairly often.

Thanks, Toby.

My two yr. olds are doing great too. There doesn't seem to be any problems with these guys, if they're healthy to start with. Look forward to raising them, breeding them, etc. I'll be taking photos occasionally to keep a record of the color/pattern changes they go through. I'm also keeping weights.

Cheers....TC

Thanks.

I'll be in TX next week, so save me a pair of flavs, if you will, and I'll talk to you when I settle back in.
