something i noticed

Treeserpent Jun 07, 2009 09:00 AM

Everytime I see a hypo arab or hypo motley or anything that would normally have connected dorsal patterns and a laddertail the hypomelanism seems to remove that trait.does anyone have the above mentioned morphs that have retained their patterns while being hypos?

TreSer, The Co-dominant Aztec gene has proven to be the only mutation to date where the majority of Hypo Aztecs produced have not been affected by the inherent disruption of pattern caused by the Hypo gene. In fact the Hypo Gene and the color anomaly that exists within the Aztec genetics has proven to be very compatible, producing a whole new class of designer boas unlike anything seen before. A few photo's as examples.

Thats it hope this helps you in your quest for knowledge. Before I go I do have a question for all you patron saints of the world..? Below you will see a photo of the 08' Patternless Super Aztec at a couple months old. For some reason I never noticed or it didn't register but the tip of the snakes tongue is white or semi-transparent. My question, is a white forked tongue that common or rather rare..? No pun intended. Would appreciate anyones input or thoughts. Take care and hope your season is in full swing. Andrew

This girl has that tongue anomaly ,white tipped red and black multicolored tongue.

I was surprised to see this ,I thought only Salmon/hypo Jungles displayed this

There are animals that you mentioned that have kept their pattern eventhough the Hypo was involed but a lot of the time those animals are kept by the breeder cause they are kinda few and far between. Brian Gundy has an amazing Sunglow Motley that kept it's pattern well and Chris N. has one of if not the best Hypo Motleys i've ever scene that kept it's pattern with the Hypo gene. I've seen Hypo Arabesques also. Here's a pic of my Hypo arabesque female that kept her pattern pretty well.

Dang Kirby that baby rocks balls. I've never seen a Hypo Motley look as good as that one. Keep up the good work and continued success in your boa endeavors. Take care. Andrew
