Sri Lankan/Indian Star babies

spycspider Jun 07, 2009 04:59 PM

Hi,

I'm not new to the turtle keeping hobby (10 years), but I am relatively new to tortoises. I've had two years experience with baby sulcatas, leopards, and redfoots and was wondering if baby Indian or Sri Lankan stars are that much more difficult to care for. I'm trying to save up since they're much more expensive and of course I'll study up on caresheets, but any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

The closest relative of the two G. elegans races of Stars is the Leopard Tortoise. Hence, their needs are fairly similar, as are their rather low tolerance for cool and damp situations (causes respiratory problems). If you email me, I will send you a Care sheet for the G. elegans races of Star Tortoises.
