Pied + Clown = Double Hets

fgs Jun 07, 2009 10:42 PM

You might look at the babies in these eggs and not think much about them, but the potential of what they can produce is very exciting.

From the moment I saw Dan and Colette's pied clown at the 08 Anaheim show I knew what I had to do. It's amazing to think what their hiden genes will produce someday.

First photo shows mom and dad in the heat of passion. The second photo shows 7 beautiful double hets for pied clowns.

Talk about excited............

Hey Congratulations! TSK's pied clowns are spectacular! I saw them when they were at one of the shows in So Cal this past fall. Congrats on a nice healthy clutch and best wishes with them!

These are some of the most sought after babies we have available. We are hoping for some more killer clowns this season. Great job and hope you get good odds.

I didn't know you produced pied clowns, would you post a picture. You mentioned the killer clown, I have seen the pics of those, but I don't remember pied clowns.

Thanks Mike

I took this photo at Dan and Colette's table last year at the Anaheim show. The second I saw this little guy I knew what I had to do. Now you see why I'm so excited about this project.

Can you imagine what a killer clown pied will look like......I imagine Dan and Colette will know before the rest of us.

Brian,
Thanks for the picture, I think I might have seen it in Daytona. Not sure at all. I think the clown part is almost lost, maybe a low white version would be better.

Now, the pastel and killer clowns are really something special.

Thanks again for the picture,

Mike

I produced a clutch of these last year as well. 1.2 of them came out crazy looking almost like the Clown genes had bled through somehow. I kept back that trio for my future breeders. I can't wait to breed them together!

Thanks for the comment.

I have already noticed that one of the babies is a ringer with a crazy pattern. I'll show photos of it once it sheds.

I too will be holding most of these guys back...If not all of them, but pleasse don't tell my wife.... LOL

well done brian! do you have a ratio of sexes yet? 2.5 would be nice! what is this hidden gene you mentioned? again, nice job.

Joe:

The babies are still in their eggs and probably won't come out for several days.

The hiden gene I'm talking about is the fact that these babies don't look any different than normals eccept for the fact that they are all heterozygous for both pied and clown. Didn't mean to confuse anyone.

I love pied clowns as well. The pieds are awsome by themselves but very special when mixed with other morphs. Best of luck with them Brian. Mike Panichi
