So, after many many warnings. I did it anyway... I left a live rat in my snakes cage overnight. I have done this before without incident but this time has turned out very bad. I know i messed up very very bad! The rat ate 2 very large areas of skin off of my snake the ribs and spine are very visible in these areas. I would just like to if i am doing everything necesary to save her. or if i should even save her... She is only about a foot and a half long. surprisingly, she is moving more than i though she would want to. when i was cleaning the wounds she was trying to get away from me... which i take as a good sign. i cleaned out the wounds with a seringe and mild antibacterial soap solution, diluted. and then covered them with a antibiotic sauve. i made sure i put some good heat oon her to try to fight the infection... is there anything else i sould do? i also took her off of her normal bedding and have her on some newspaper. so that the wounds stay clean. if you need me to post a picture i will but i am very embarrassed so i really don't want to. I usually take very good care of my reptiles. I know i didn't this time and i deserve this but she doesn't. Please Help!
