Follow up to Color Change Question...

Dpoling Jun 08, 2009 01:59 PM

As far as color changing, is there any relationship to the color of the "saddles" (the top spots) and the eventual color of the snake's background? This pic below is a couple months old, but I was wondering if the background will eventually match the color of the top spots. As the background color now is more brown...
Can the top spots be used as an indicator of color to come?

Dan,
...I do not think that snake will get much lighter than it already is. I do think the tans and browns will get more red-orange to them over time. The snake will probably turn out to be a light sandy orange tan color. It will probably never be a bright orange.

Thanks Jeff. A bit depressing to hear, but I'm glad to finally know.

Dan,
...They can be very very pretty without having outrageous bright colors.

I agree; it is just an added bonus if their color "pops".

For the most part, babies with eye popping color will be the ones likely to have eye popping color as adults!!

Dan,
....This is female 47F. She was born here 8/26/08 in my Lorio/Caat99F3 litter. She is a sister of your snake. It shows how much variation there can be among littermates.
