Yeah, whats up with that this year.I have 24 good clutches and seven have been out of the nest box.I check every day so no worries on the clutch drying up on me when it does happen.

Funny, I just had a snow het hypo lay a slug in the box and then 3 giant eggs right over the heat tape.

Strange how that vermiculite is stuck to the bottom of the middle egg. I have noticed that somehow it gets mixed up in aspen/pine shavings from time to time.Yeah right.Certainly you don't keep a breeder in those philips boxes-huh bro????

shannon brown Jun 08, 2009 10:36 PM

She is maybe 3 foot at best and yes I keep several breeders in phillips boxes.

JYohe Jun 11, 2009 06:15 PM

I have 2 racks made for taller Phillip boxes, they racks each hold 40 boxes, no heat, old, and I keep all kinds of snakes in them, some I should not, ....my record?....last year I bred a ball that was still housed in a Phillip box.....yea...don't try this at home.....(6 eggs? maybe 2000 grams)...

Llyod Lemke used to breed adult kings in shoe boxes.I am not kidding either. saw it with my own eyes.I usually let them hit about the 3 foot mark before moving them into there 28 quart boxes.Every year I have a few that I breed at border line size in the larger philips.

yea,,,I use them for corns and small milks , but don't like it....I use 28 qt or bigger for bigger ratsnakes and kings...balls usually get a 34 inch long tub....I have to continuously sell and rotate stuff all the time due to keeping babies every year.....as we all usually do....

.....even sinaloae get too big for Phillip boxes usually....but I've done it.....

LMAO Jerry!!! Funny because I was just going to first say congrats but was also going to have to say something about that very sparse laying box!! Guess I should not bother making them next year. Ha Ha. Nice looking snake and congrats.

Nice Shannon! That guy is really pulling through this year. That is a very nice female as well. All I got from my nelsoni were slugs this year. bummer. I'm counting the days til your clutch hatches - let us know what pops out.

That's a real CHERRY RED amelanistic Nelsoni you're breeding the T with! What's the female's length and weight? What will the genotypes of the offspring be? They're sure to be nice...

Thanks!

Dan

I am not sure what she weighs. She is about 3 foot and pretty fat.Hard to say what the babies will look like for sure.I am sure some will be t and some will be amel.

Thanks Shannon

Well, t negative is amelanistic and t positive is ilso considered albino but its called t plus because it still produces some melanin and sometimes its called hypo or extreme or super hypo.
