I don't know how much it would cost across the pond, but you would need a substantial sized enclosure for an adult burm, usually home built cages are what is used. The minimum measurements for an adult cage is usually 8'L X 2'D X 2'H or 6'L X 3'D X 2'H (assuming the animal is roughly only 12'-14' long). It would also be important that you have someone who is willing to help with the snake once it gets larger - for years. A very large animal is not a one person endeavor and they can easily live 20-30 years or more (from what I've read). Royal pythons live even longer, I believe the record is 47-48 years in captivity. There's a lot to take into consideration for large constrictors before even considering the purchase of one.
