Different anerys compatible? (longicauda

mountainlyon Jun 08, 2009 08:28 PM

If you take two different anerythristic longicauda from two different breeders/lines and breed them... do you get anerys? Or, are there incompatible anery genes, making them double hets??

Looking to pair up my male and it occurred to me that I might need to look for a related anery female, or an unrelated normal and produce hets.

Yes, if they are Pure Longicauda Anerythristics. If you make Dh's
from Pure Anery Litters, HOLD EM LOL!!

all the anerys should be the same gene. even though you while see sold black tail saddles on anery longi's that look like type 2 anerys in bci it's the same gene as light silver saddled anery longi's. the difference in color has to do with how much pigment there is to turn black as they get older rather then the anery gene itself which is the case with the different bci anerys. almost all of the lonicauda blood lines have the anery gene some where in the mix. a number of the imports where anerys and even the normal imports produced anerys in the first generation.
