all my books i have on bp say that they breed once a year and it starts in fall and the eggs hatch in spring into early summer.... all these forums about gravids and stuff is that cycle the books talk about or what and is what im reading wrong pleaz help......

next question i heard from a guy i work with ( which is at a pet store) that he uses repti-bark AND aspen USED TOGETHER is this bad, good, or niether...

The bark and aspen mix is probably just his things. Doesn't matter.

Repti bark, aspen, wood chips etc.. All make me nervous personally I use paper towels for all my snakes..

I think many of the books(many times picked up in pet stores) are from early 90s, maybe older. I have a couple older ones and much of whats written is still relevant. In my opionion, some things like breeding have become more refined over the years. I believe people have learned over time that you can get your Ball Pythons to breed year round and some people dont even cycle them cold anymore. Another area is that many people have gone from Perilite mixture to the no-subsrtate method for incubation of eggs....like that. The older books are still great and I refer to my books all the time. What year is the book you have copy righted?

my first one was published in 2005 and was written by the owner on N.E.R.D and my second was published in 2003 and i also have another but i cant find it at the moment and it was published in the 2000s as well
