Bull Snake Poop

SJL180 Jun 09, 2009 05:31 PM

I got a female bull as my first snake and I was just wondering what her poop is supposed to look like. It doesn't look anything like what my geckos leave behind. It's kind of a dark grey color and look like a thin coiled up worm usually with a white discharge mixed in with it (urine?). There is also generally a little extra clear fluid around it. She's just over two feet long and about 1.5 to 2 times as big around as my thumb at her largest point. She's feeding very aggressively on f/t hoppers every 4 days and responds well to handling if not somewhat flighty.

The only reason I'm posting is because I saw that it was supposed to look like dog poop and it definitely doesn't. She shows no signs of being sick, and I'm not sure if this is one of them. If anyone could post a description of what a young snake's poop should look like I would really appreciate it.

It is supposed to look like you described. There will be more hair in it at a later time when you start to feed her rats. I wouldn't be concerned.

Thank you very much. I'm kind of paranoid. It's kind of like having a new child you know? I want to pretend everything is a sign that she's only got moments to live.
