I have a baby spotted salamander about 2 inches and a Northern slimy salamander that it about 7 or 8 inches. Will it be ok for them to be in the same tank or will the slimy eat the spotted?

I keep Ambystoma species in a plastic shoe box with holes in the lid. I add several inches of moist soil, some moss, and bark hidding places. I keep these containers away from direct light and mist occasionally.
Your slimy will do better in a terrarium type setup with some plants (ivy).
Not a good idea to house a small salamander with a larger one anyway. May end up as a food source.
