tomorrow is 5 years married...(29 years 3 months since I met her) ...should have just kept living with her....HAhahahaaaa....whatadumbassIam
After 24 years was that a romantic gesture?
I guess I ask because after living with someone common law takes into effect and you are bound just like a marriage contract uner the law.
I will never understand why anyone would want to get "married" in the biblical sence if they don't beleive in Gods institution. This is the "romantic" part I don't get. why do people feel they do this and then discredit God and His existence?? So really, there is only the legal context left as far as marriage is concerned.
Personally, I don't think that marriage should have anything to do with the state. It should be just one type of marriage and not two and not one has anything to do with the other. For instance if gays want to get married they can, let them be free. Just don't ask for the gov't for a legal law, step, ruling. Same goes with every poor sap that got married and has not reveived the contract handed out by the state..and OH MY, if you did, AI! Your off to a bad start. Catch 22 for fellas...
Basically I break it down to 2 different types of marriage 1) the Biblical 2) the state "legal" marriage.
Think of it this way. The marriage is a huge business for America economy. If your future spouse and you don't beleive in marriage (Marriage is Gods institution and not mans)so why spend all this cash on a traditional "I do" cermony with God and all if you don't really care about what God thinks or if He thinks at all about what we do. Save yourselve some money and use it to start off life in a better way .
And JYohe , this was not directed at you. Just a rant. I think it is great you guys did that and your sweetheart deserved that. I just don't know if people know or think about what marriage actually is anymore. I can tell you it is not a church wedding nor a civil cermony.
