something weird and cool

eagle Sep 14, 2003 10:25 AM

Hey guys!

I just moved my gravud female, and male cage beside each other. But there is a piece of cardboard between the 2 cages, so they definitely can't see each other. What I noticed is that the male will look in the direction of the female and do his head bopping ritual, Then the female started gaping, and turned into her real dark non-receptive/gravid colour. They some how know they are close to each other even without visually seeing each other. Anyways I thought that was kinda cool, also do you guys think I should move her away?

I agree that that is neat they can sense each other without sight, but I think you should DEFINITELY move them away and out of sight, The stress could cause problems for your gravid female and you want her to stay as happy and healthy as she can right now I think ^_^

Just my 2 cents

this is another thing that can be record for the chameleon communicasion files

it is belived that chams use infasonic sounds to communicate so that is what may be happining you should move on of them into another room.

I too think it probably is low frequency communication and would recommend relocating your female. Here is a link to an article on this type of communication.
