Female Pacific Coast Gopher

jlassiter Jun 10, 2009 01:24 AM

I never had very many pits....
But while working in the Bay Area of California I found this girl 2 years ago in Contra Costa County (Benicia, CA).
After seeing an albino Pacific Coast Gopher snake I think I need to find this one a male albino asap....

Hope you like her..

I was at Valero Refinery working...Each process unit has an old bunker with material in it....I was cruising back in the old army bunkers and saw her crossing the road...I also saw about 100 or more Blue Belly lizards....She was about 18 inches then...Now she's almost 5 foot....
So I would say it was by accident, but I have had hundreds of snakes....So I always have my eyes peeled when driving in such areas...lol

Very cool. Always nice to come across unexpected serpentine treasures like that. A friend of mine once came across a SoPac rattler on Ventura Blvd. (really trndy busy SF Valley street).
