Weird eggs

spider916 Jun 10, 2009 08:29 PM

Are slugs supposed to have veins? I'm not new to this, but I had just never candled a slug before. My female laid her first clutch yesterday - 1 viable egg, 3 slugs. I put the whole pile in the incubator just in case. Now I'm seeing significant veins in at least two of them. The third "slug" is under the big egg so I can't really see into it.

i dont breed ball pythons yet but ive been breeding colubrids for over ten years and if an egg has veins its not a slug!!
veins indicate life so incubate and keep your fingers crossed.

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

That's what I thought, so I'm glad I put them in the incubator. I don't hold out too much hope for them growing to "full term" because the eggs are so small, but I'll give them a chance and see what happens. Thanks for the input!
