mold on eggs?

adamig Jun 13, 2009 09:29 AM

i have seen some gray spots on a few of my eggs. they have been in a hovabator and the eggs will be 6 weeks old sun. the eggs are in glad entre containers. these are the sandwich sized clear containers with blue covers. i have small 2 small holes in the cover and a hole on each side of the containers. should i remove the orange plugs on the incubator to create more air flow? is this discoloration something to worry about? the eggs are still good. theyre about double the size of the second clutch that was layed last mon. any help would be appreciated.

If the eggs are in good shape, just leave them. If they go south remove them. Attached is a pic of what I call "red eggs". I had two in a container. I was told it was a fungus. One hatched, one didn't. Are your containers deep enough? I like to have an inch or two of hatchright under my eggs. Not sure you can do that in the flat sandwich size containers.

id say there is about an inch of vermiculite. the vermiculite seems to still be moist. it averages about 83-84 degrees. id take a pic but i dont have a digi. camera at this point.
