I have a trio of Blue Tegus! The are great. Up until now they were all doing fine. This week I noticed that the male has been trying to mate with the females. However, he only seems to be mating with one if the female #1 successfully and femail #2 is resisting.

The female #1 (with whom he mated with successfully) started chasing the female #2 around and started biting at her. I removed the other female#2 right away as it was getting ugly!

Is is usually ok to have breeding trios for Tegus or is it better to pair them up?

Also, when the male is breeding with the females, he seems to scare them when biting at the neck. Is this typical?

I really need some advice... thank!
