Thanks for the pic, David. I don't see many dwarf tegus on here.
I held a juvie at a nearby reptile shop but it was quite skiddish, like most lil ones. The guy was putting it back in the cage when it jumped across the counter, over an aquarium, then behind the fridge. It didn't take too long to get the little guy out, but he was lightning quick compared to my docile red and schitzo gold tegus.
Is yours mellow now that he's full grown?

Hey Ripley, why do you call your gold tegu(s) schitzo?
Heh heh. I use the term affectionately.
My colombian gold is almost 1 1/2 yrs old, and while he's much tamer than when I first got him, he is agressive. We take him out (pet store, park basking, etc.) along with the arg red, but don't let others pet or hold him. The red is friendly and "petable", as long as you don't smell like a mouse.
I do enjoy my little schitzo gold... even if I have to watch him like a hawk.
