I also think lava is one of the more striking morphs. I bred my lava het anery male to a ghost female and just had eleven hatch out this weekend. Got five anerys and six normals. I'm incubating a clutch from the same Lava male bred to an ultramel. He is possible het amel, so this should tell if he is. Three weeks will tell.

Hummm.. Maybe I need to keep tracking godfreys posts her.e.. Would like to see the ultramel lavas...

I finally got a fairly decent photo of the male Lava. I'll post some pics of the hatchlings after they shed later this week.

Dang Sire.. I don't think I honestly need any more projects, but.... Wowwwiee..

Nice, he is getting better with every shed! Maybe we need to duplicate a breeding next year and breed him to the really orange ultramel. Great job!

I wish I had a male Lava.. From the same breeder that produced my little girl, apparently there is no hets in this line.. So a nice fresh clean slate to start with..

Is a lava an amel/blood? Those are really great looking corns.

No, Lava is a form of Hypomelanism that is unrelated to the others (Hypo A and Sunkissed). I think after this year it will be determined to be unrelated to Strwaberry also.

Very orange animals, typically very bright

Ahhh... I was wondering about Lava and somehow assumed it was a form or bloodred, or amel bloodred. So, its just the simple expression of this hypo gene?

Lava=Hypo C
