RANCO QUESTION!!!

elapidfan Jun 14, 2009 06:51 PM

Just got a CB-70 and am setting it up now. This is my first ever rack, and I need some help understanding how to properly use the Ranco thermostat. I placed the probe in the middle of the rack, directly touching the heat cable. Is this ok? Also, when I plugged everything in and programmed the temp, it say's "DIF1" and then "H1". What does this mean? Finally, what temp do you guys recommend setting the Ranco at? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

The Hi 1 is where you set your temps. The temps you set all depend on how warm your place is. I bought my Ranco from a buddy, no manual, and it took me all of 30 secs to figure out. Its super easy man. Just as soon as the Hi 1 shows up just press up or down to set the temp you want. Play around with it a bit, you'll get it.

I try to keep the probe on the basking spot in one tub to get a more accurate reading. I usually keep the basking spot at about 90-92.
