Hi,
I know I know, no one asked me for my 2 cents, but this cross breeding thing has got me thinking about some things here. First, where is the market for such animals and who is going to buy these animals. Pretty soon if this kind of mind set and practice takes a foot hold, we'll see this kind of trend take over the market, to some degree and true or pure animals will become either a thing of the past or questionable. With dealers passing off their off-spring as pure bred because they resemble phenotypically a Malaysian red, or a Borneo short-tail. I don't know I guess you can just call me old fashion or a purest.
I don't agree that such animals at least with the market being what it is today and with such tendencies by the lay person, to breed any thing they can get their hands on, not to mention the unscrupulous breeding practices of some - that the ethics of such practices should be over-looked here and should really be considered, or taken into account when allowing this to go on. I realize that this was an accident. Albeit, I know that such animals do integrade where such boundaries exist ( i.e.,Sumatra), where they are limited only by their own ability to cross such bounderies.
Such desires are driven by curiousity and the thought of creating the melanged animal or Frankentein short-tail, no doubt that there is the possibility that there will be some incredible creation, or not for that matter. So then, where do you go from there (rhetorical). Do others follow in the foot steps of one individual because they saw his creations - then what gives. I tell you what, more unpure and genetically maligned mutts with no market for them.
I have to apologize in advance if this seems like an attact on you personally, but it is not my intention to sound off on you personally. Your escapee, created a serendipitous forum and thought that I would share my thoughts on the subject.
