Any Pepper heads?? (On Topic)

Joel_Thomas Jun 15, 2009 02:20 PM

There have been some threads run recently about naming your animals, In the past I have always assigned numbers to keep them straight.

As I am restarting my hobby/business and I will be retailing my animals I wanted to find an easier and funner way to I.D. them and to talk to others about them with out referencing a number.

I also wanted to keep a theme base, so I took another of my passions (hot peppers) and used the varities as names, so you will see many that will be named after peppers or spicy dishes unless there is just another name that just fits better

Fun stuff!

This is the Buht-jolokia more than twice the heat of a habenero!

This is Mirasol....about the same heat LOL...

I agree the hotter the better, but I have taken it too far with the Buht-jolokia a couple of times.

Thanks that Peruvian was produced by Matt Blast in 07

Hey Joel,
I love that you chose a theme for naming your boas.

I have themes for mine also:

Boas- all named after an element, mineral or gem
ex: Ferrous, Emerald, Zinca, Onyx, Jasper, Cuprous, etc.
Except for the Hog Islands: Ms. Piggy, Wilber, Harley, Isla

Ball pythons- all named after science (I know NERDY!)
ex: Allele, Watson, Gene, Okazaki, Locus, Galileo, Energy
etc.

Corn snakes- all named after Starbucks coffees and teas!
ex: Kona, Pike, Chai, Verona, Komodo, etc.

Here's Argento (Silver)

First off Argento is gorgeous....what is he?

Yeah I think we are all a little nerdy in our own ways I am good with that. I will have to pay more attention to the names of your animals as you post.

This is too much fun.

He's a Cay Caulker. He's just a wee tot in that pic. I love him. He is very nice to handle.

I got him from Ben Segiel, and I am not sure who produced him. I have a female that I got from Outback that was produced by Vin Russo. Her name is Zinca.

I always wanted to name a snake Jolokia XD

I love hot foods, the hotter the better. I want to sweat bullets when I eat.

Joel_Thomas Jun 15, 2009 04:55 PM

I have one named after that Buht-jolokia pepper Have you tried one yet?

I grew them last year for the first time and they are hands down the hottest thing that I have ever eaten, true story...I put a piece the size of a pepper seed on my tongue and let it sit there for about three seconds and my tongue blistered LOL...

I put peppers on at least one dish for every meal that I eat, my wife and children pretty much do not eat anything I have cooked

Fun stuff.

Yep, I've eaten a couple, and they indeed were the hottest pepper's I've eaten- I got pretty dizzy, my stomach was churning and I was sweating. It was a grand time looking back on it, lol.
