Triple Homozygous Albinos?

scaledverts Jun 15, 2009 04:01 PM

Has anyone produced triple homozygous albinos yet? I often wonder what a leo that is homozygous for tremper, bell, and rainwater albino would look like. Or would it even live at all? It is possible that all of the albino genes in combination would be lethal. If you look at other genes such as the albino, anery, and hypo genes in honduran milks; there is a push to create visual pearls (triple homozygous).

I'm not so sure anyone is working with all three right now. The most likely, however, would be Ron Tremper or Urban Gecko. They're always mixing it up!

The real question is whether anyone be able to tel the difference between a double homozygous or a triple homozygous when compared to a single homozygous albino strain.

If you can't tell the difference then why bother? Yes, it would definitely make a valuable gecko for breeding projects, but a lengthy breeding experiment may need to be established to confirm whether more than one strain is even present in the phenotype/genotype.....and a triple homozygous would take even longer.
