Jersey gold.....

JKruse Jun 16, 2009 11:30 PM

Is it just me or does New Jersey produce more than just bad drivers, excess CO2, and meandering malls? Had just enough time to snap a few shots of this little male temp before returning him back under his fossorial nook at the end of a long day. Enjoy!

LOL, of course I have Jersey shots. Here's a few to give you a sense.....

The almost pristine white sand is amazing.....

As we all know, any and all debris on an overcast day just after a rain is prime....

The turkey vultures seem to think so as well.....I could swear he was sizing me up......

yyyyyep, south Jersey is a pretty cool place -- doesnt take much to get the kids out there with all the cool things to find.....

like black racers......

and HUGE frickin' wolf spiders that look like mini tarantulas....

numerous amphibians, such as the Fowler's toad..........

the elusive eastern garter (DOR) .... for some reason they're not too easy to come by in these parts -- I've found more temporalis then I have Thamnophis......sadly, we just missed this tragedy too......

and more bloody black racers......

an overabundance of worm and ring-necks......but good for the kiddies I guess......

the occasional moody pine .............

and never enough temporalis . . . .

All in all, the Jersey habitat varies but within the vast barrens it's all pretty similar. It's the hot spots that remain a secret. Hope you liked what I had to show, and although there's more it all looks relatively the same for the most part.

Great looking milk! That head pattern reminds me of a sunkissed corn.

Wow! That is a beautiful snake. Makes me want to get into temps now. I've never had any N. A. milks before. Unless you count Pueblans.

From a "continental" perspective, yeah, Pueblans COULD be lumped into what is termed "N.A." milks, but I don't think it's thought of that way.
