using superworms too much. Unhealthy in the long run. Occasionally they should be fine. Chris

I never heard tha about Supers before. Do you know what it is about them that is not healthy in the long run?

Fatty liver disease, Hepatic Lipidosis. Not just superworms obviously, but there have been plenty of cases where superworms have been linked to be one of the fatty problems in the diet. Chris
not to mention how they are kind of addicting to some dragons. Some dragons will start to only want supers and not feed on other foods. I have seen that before myself, and also others have said how they fed alot of supers and the dragons did not want to take crix or veggies anymore. Chris
Silk worms are also VERY nutritional. There probeley the best staple your could give for a dragon. If you want to check them out go too www.mullberryfarms.com.
This is SO TRUE! I had this exact problem with my dragons. I was waiting over the weekend for a new order of crickets to get in, and fed them supers in the mean time. I had a hard time getting them to take crickets again (they are just starting to now), and they are still not eating as much salad as they did before. Personally I think I'm gonna be done with supers (or use the VERY sparingly).
That's interesting, I never heard that before. I know of a well know herp vet that feeds supers as the only live prey to there adult dragons. Never mentioned anything about it being a potential health risk. Thanks for the info though.
