First time producing these here

brookside Jun 17, 2009 09:02 PM

Had some time tonight and thought I would share a few pictures of clutches and babies that we've produced this season.

These Ivories are the first we have produced here. From a 7 egg clutch (yellowbelly x yellowbelly) we hatched 0.2 Ivories, 1.3 Yellowbellies and 0.1 Normals.

On the next clutch we missed the Sterling but produced our very first Pewters here. From a 6 egg clutch (pewter x pastel) we hatched 1.3 Pewters, 1.0 Pastel and 1.0 Normals. We were definitely lucky in producing 4 Pewters.

We're especially excited about the next 2 clutches but we'll have to wait until August to see what hatches.

Pastel Lesser x Enchi (6 eggs). We were blown away by the Lesser Enchi that GHI Reptiles produced, so we're trying to produce our own. We could have a shot at hitting the Pastel Lesser Enchi in this clutch.

Pastel Lesser x Spider (9 eggs). There's potential for a lot of nice morphs to hatch from this clutch.

We'd love to see some of your '09 clutches and babies. Best of Luck with your hatchings and may the odds be with you!

How about these odds, a Sulfur Mojave x normal.....one Sulfur Mojave and 4 normals. Go ahead and laugh, I had too, otherwise I would have been bummed.

Dave

Dave,

I hate to hear that about the odds on your sulfur mojave clutch. Definitely nothing to laugh about. Although we've missed the odds on several clutches over the years, it usually tends to balance out (good odds versus bad odds). A few years ago we produced our first yellowbelly clutch (5 eggs) and hatched 1 yellowbelly and 4 normals. The same year we produced a 12 egg clutch from spider x normal pairing and hatched 3 spiders and 9 normals. Hang in there! The odds will eventually swing in your favor on some clutches.

Dave you actually didn't do that bad on that , 1 Sulfur Mojave out of 5 eggs isn't bad considering in theory you would only make 1 double codom out of every 4 eggs anyway. All you really missed on was a regular Mojave and a regular Sulfur the way I would look at that clutch. I'd be fine with only the one double out of that size of clutch any day of the week! Good luck with your next clutches man!

Nice Ivories Scott! Was this from the Voodoo stuff or the Yb male you got from me? Either way nice Ivory girls to hold back!

Take care,
Anthony

brookside Jun 18, 2009 07:09 PM

Hey Anthony, yeah it was from the het Voodoo Ivory male. I have another chance at hitting a Voodoo with a 6 egg clutch incubating now. If I miss it, I'm thinking dad to daughter will do the trick.

Wow, you sure put a whipping on the odds gods so far this year Scott.. Great clutches. My females I got from you are just going great guns and if they dont make it this fall they will be really good size to go next fall. I have a couple of great male Albinos to put to them... They are breeding fools. Good luck on the rest of the clutches and maybe we will talk about what you are going to let go later on.Jay
