Permits taking extra long time... again

I'm just curious if anyone has been able to get a permit this year. I posted this same question 2 months ago. I made a few calls and was treated quite politely and explained why the process was taking a long time. But still, no permits yet.

It's been >6 months now and still no permit or permit denial. hmm.... feeling a bit bummed.
