Quarantine questions

jamesalternafan Jun 18, 2009 02:59 PM

Firstly how do I want to set it up and for how long? I recently I got 4 new subocs two of which were housed together and the other two were seperate. When I received them I set them up in similar manner with the two together and the others seperated. Right now I have the two split up 07s in a hatchling rack and the other two adults housed together in a 20 tall. I know the containers are a little small but it is this or my snake room racks.

Will this suffice? What am I trying to accomplish through the quarantine? I sprayed PAM in the enclosures the day before they arrived to try to wipe out any infestation after that do I just want to make sure they all eat then move them to my regular snake room. How long should I keep them seperate?

Any help or advice is appreciated

Thanks
James

some people do 30 days some 60, some 90. I do a 90 day quarantine, seems a bit much but I have too many snakes to make 1 mistake like that. My .02.

Cleaning? Try supermarket vinegar, with a touch of dish liquid, and some cheap lemon juice. Better than bleach, no toxins.

That being said, I do the 30-45 days, till I check the poop 3x.
