Snake Liability Insurance??

MikeSkipRocks Jun 18, 2009 10:23 PM

I'm looking at getting into a new place and the owners are concerned about liability issues with me keeping my burms. I've tried to re-assure them but they are asking me to look for insurance for them. Anyone every heard of Snake Liability Insurance?? If so Where could I get it?? Thanks

Years ago when I had snakes in my apartment, I never told them. BUT, renters insurance might be something to look into.

There's someone who'll sell you insurance on almost anything. Just like there's someone who'll bet on almost everything. Insurance is gambling, and like casino gambling, it's carefully calculated so that the house always wins.

That having been said, Snake Liability Insurance should really be a pretty safe bet for your insurance agent - you give him money, and chances are the snakes will never do anything to trigger him giving any back. That's your insurance agent's job - to find an insurer who will take that gamble.

Good luck!
