Breeding Season?

airbornehodges Jun 20, 2009 10:36 AM

I have a nine month ball python(who is also about a week from a shed, i fed him a week ago. Since his feeding he has holed up in his hide coiled up ready to strike. He is acting very aggressive and actually struck the glass when my wife walked by two days ago.

A friend of mine says it is breeding season and that makes pythons super aggressive and they need fed more during this time of year.

Does anyone have an idea if this is true? I have done some research online and cannot find anything to support or deny this. HELP!!!

Not likely from the season -- more likely irritable from going into shed - or maybe stressed -- or just in a bad mood. It happens - if he doesn't calm down after the shed you might want to reexamine his living conditions to make sure it's not stress.
