A few Cricket questions

rich_123 Sep 14, 2003 05:04 PM

How long do crickets live once they become adults?

What's the deal with fruit flies always showing up in my cricket colonies? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been having this problem. Some insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all those who reply.

Fruit flies will show up where there's just about any moisture/food source commonly left out.. Contrary to popular opinion "fruit flies" don't only live on fruits.. All flies of the Drosopholia Melanogaster "complex" live on decomposing organic matter... and as well all know.. decomposition releases sugars bound up in cells..and that attracts the fruit flies.
