Murray/Darling or Inland Carpet Python questions

ErinP Sep 14, 2003 05:09 PM

Hello,

I had a few questions about the carpet python M.Metcalfei. I think the python is pretty rare in U.S. collections. I was wondering if any one has had experience with the species. I've read they are a fairly small carpet (four to six feet) and have gentle dispositions. Does anyone have pictures of their inland carpets and can you share your experiences of keeping them. Also does anyone know of U.S. breeder who are working with them. Thanks in advance for any replies.

thanks again,
Erin

but I don't know of anyone in the U.S. with any. I would be they're pretty expensive as well.

Hi Erin,
I don't know how you'll go finding a breeder in the US for those guys. I live in Melbourne and hardly ever see them in the pet shops here (I might have seen one or two - thats it). So... Inlands are not just rare in the US. There might be people who do breed them here but that won't help you, I don't think you can export native wildlife from Australia.

Sorry I couldn't help you more.
Chris.
