UPDATE: No More Fighting

OldTime Jun 21, 2009 06:08 PM

Probably nobody cares but I’m happy to report that after about a day and a half of tension and combat in my turtle habitat things have calmed down significantly. Now my 2 Easterns stay in opposite sides of the enclosure and are completely ignoring each other. I didn’t have to set up a divider or anything. The addition of a small male 3-Toed seems to have helped establish the peace (even though I thought it might do the exact opposite). Anyway...Just wanted to throw this update out there for whatever it might be worth!

Hey, I think I can say for most of us, that we do care. I know I for one learn a lot from others, and while I have had no aggression issues, it's nice to hear your experience in case I do have one in the future. Congrats on the peace. Throw some pics of the new 3-toed up when you get a chance. -Curtis

Oh...well heck I know people probably care...that's just the way I talk/type. I forget sometimes that certain idioms, sarcasm, self-deprecating humor and just plain weirdness gets lost or misinterpreted when it’s typed out.

As far as the Three-Toed...I've had him for about 11 years. He came from a REALLY bad pet store in TX. I have no idea if you can even still purchase these little guys . . . probably not! Here's a pic I took of him yesterday!

This is the first time in a long while that I have housed him with other turtles. He's always been very gentle with everyone!

Nice looking turtle, people do care if even if they don't say so and since I'm here what color is that boxies shell? silver? chrome?

Great looking turtle! I hope Rusty, my 3-toed male, grows to be a pretty as yours. He's put on a ton of color, especially on his beak and neck, since last year.
