baby question

zippy00_99 Jun 21, 2009 08:32 PM

some of you may remember, I am the guy that had his substrate too moist and lost his clutch. Well ONE egg that was on top of the rest went to term, and hatched just fine.

My question is she hasn't eaten for 4 weeks. I offered 1 pinky mouse after 1 week, then another pinky mouse 1 week later, and another pinky mouse 1 week after that. The only difference is that the last try she bit the pinky about 20 times, but never coiled. What is my next move? The next attempt will be friday...that is my feeding day for my balls. So ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (she shed just fine)

Thanks,
Matt Z.

they don't eat pink mice....
try fuzzy mice, big enough to walk ,crawl around...
they need movement to trigger a strike...

I've never had a baby ball eat a pinky mouse. I start mine on small adult mice, but you can also use hopper mice, rat pinks, or rat fuzzies.

Thanks guys. I didn't think that the meal was too small. I will try a young mouse and see what happens.
